Climate Refugees: A New Arena for Human Rights

The S&D Group in the European Parliament in Brussels is hosting a seminar entitled 'Climate Refugees: A New Arena for Human Rights' on 2 March 2011.

Three panels will focus on

1. The effects and consequences of climate change on migration and human rights, highlighting the specific case of Ethiopia.

2. State of play of the legal aspects concerning Climate Refugees

3. Potential political answers

Speakers include Cecilia Malmstrom, EU Commissioner, Home Affairs and Ana Gomes, S&D MEP.
