Venue: European Economic and Social Committee, Brussels : 24 September 2009

Labour market and the future of workers from agriculture, food and tourism sectors are being directly concerned and affected by climate change. Two of the most important sources of income for the rural areas, agriculture and tourism are sometimes disputing natural resources. The probability of reduced production in some EU regions, the alterations in seasonal patterns and possibly increased farmers costs as a result of climate change will have knock-off effects for the food and drink industry.

What is the future of workers from the three sectors?

The answers to this question shall be disputed during two days time: first in an internal EFFAT meeting on the 23rd, then furthermore at your disposal in the public conference on the 24th September.

More details can be found in the annexed draft agenda. Interested? Then send the registration form to Arlette Curez: a.curez@effat.org
